      Hi guys.

A post I’ve been hoping I wouldn’t type but it’s came to it.
My grandad has sadly passed on tonight and had a fairly new motability car. I’m a under 25 and on the scheme his car is only 25+ drivers. And nobody else in my family drives or is insured on it. Is my only option now to contact motability and they will come and collect the car and that’s the end of it? I know it’s a sad post but just wondering if anyone had experienced similar. The car is in his name and was used for both my grandma and grandads disability. He was the main driver of it. Sorry for the negative and long post.

My condolences for you. I just had to hand back car following the passing of my wife at end of August. I was hoping to swap our 6 month old car to myself, but as i get war pension mobility and wife was on PIP. The red tape prevented this so I had to hand car back. Contacting Motability themselves is the best way to get correct advice on each situation.

        Cars On Motability
        2009 Citroen C4 Grand Picasso
        2012 Vauxhall Antara
        2013 Skoda Superb Estate
        2016 Seat Alhambra
        2020 Seat Tarraco
        2021 Ford Kuga
        2024 Nissan X-Trail left in Sep 25

My sincerest condolences, Brad. As you’re under 25, it’s highly unlikely you will get insured via the scheme. As such, I would get in touch with Motability in the morning to discuss your options further.

          Motability cars:

2015 RR Evoque AWD 2.0 TD4 SE Tech - written off
2017 Toyota CH-R 1.2T Dynamic CVT AWD - written off
          2019 BMW X2 2.0L Sport
          2023 Nissan Qashqai e-Power N-Connecta
