My car was written off 3 weeks ago, will notability pay the deposit on a new car when they pay out?

That’s a good question, I assume you’ll get a pro-rata refund of the advance payment you paid on your original car?

I thought the same, pro-rata refund and then off you go to select your new vehicle, paying the AP on that, whatever it may be.

In life, it's not who you know that's important, it's how your wife found out.

This would be a worrying time for me, we paid £1350 advance two years ago so we’d get around £450 back yet the new car advance last time I looked was £6000!

And obviously no option to extend

I know motability is still slightly better value than private ownership but I think where at a point where it’s a lot of money and would the secondhand market be right now?

A new lot of people will start seeing things this way, especially with the increasing AP’s. Plus, not everyone needs a new car, since Covid we are only doing 6k miles a year. Does 18k miles over a 3 year lease justify £10k in pip payments and £2-£3k in AP. I honestly think this is our last Motability car.

We’re in a similar position with home working most the time and as silly as it sounds it’s cheaper to go on the train than drive an ev and pay parking so a massive reduction in annual mileage.

I do like the scheme and it mostly being hassle free driving but at what cost?
