Does anyone know what car I can use that will accommodate my power wheelchair (Spectra) and Autochair hoist?  I have a Ford galaxy at present but would like something a bit smaller if it is at all possible. Someone mentioned Peugeot 508. Also been told to look at VW Touran and Citroen C4 Have they got 94 cm clearance in boot?  Any help on any car gratefully received, as the info is difficult to find on Motability site

        Hi Caroline

Not sure on boot size but the Hyundai Tuscan or the Seat Tarraco maybe, or the Ford Kuga,  for sizes etc the following website is informative.

RiDC website gives dimensions, but its not very user friendly (used to be , but they upgraded it…)

Anyway…The current 2015+ Galaxy has a 900mm boot height at the opening according to RiDC

          Touran is listed as 942mm

C4 Spacetourer is listed at 834mm

Citroen Berlingo/Peugeot Rifter is listed as over 1000mm

          VW Caddy is 1100mm+

The Kuga 830mm, Tucson 870mm & Tarraco 719mm are all some way short of your goal of 940mm height clearance – especially the Tarraco.

In life, it's not who you know that's important, it's how your wife found out.

This is what you need ?

This is the long wheelbase version and you can keep the 2nd row seats in place with most mobility gear in the boot.

Thank you to all for the useful information.  Depending on my finances I shall probably go with the LWB Berlingo, as my present Galaxy has difficulty fitting into the garage, and Also a couple of walls and/or bollards have deliberately walked into the sides of it.  (Can’t turn my head very far, and there seems to be a bollard-sized blind spot in the wing mirrors!).

I have the Peugeot sibling with the front/rear/side parking sensors and 360 camera and it’s very useful at showing objects at the side of the car and the top down view is incredible, so much easier to avoid stuff in this than in my last car.
