Just had a web chat with someone at motability and they have told em the car Search tool will be back up on running on the 4th of June. Here’s a transcript of the chat.

Yaser: Not due for renewal for a while tho
Yaser: But I just want to see what cars are available that’s all
Claire: Ok I see, thank you for explaining this to me, that is completely fine. The car search tool is due to be back on the website on 4th June.

thats interesting , in 3 days but we cant go and look at cars here in scotland i dont think  and i dint think we can place an order because we cant go for a test drive

I have to confess I love rummaging around the Car Search page.  I can now review my List of Potential new cars, even though I’m happy with the one I have and not even due to change for almost 2 years.  (Yes, I really am that ‘sad’.)

Looks like I lost my bet, though.  I guessed they’d ‘reopen’ on July 1st for Q 3.

Just on the phone to motability, result they just added another 6 months to the hire, that’s OK with me.

Asked if they know when a new car can be ordered, no was the reply.

I did read that but as it was in a thread on another post, finding it again would be a pain. This one makes it easier to spot.

I think I like the searching and researching the most. Chasing cars if you like. As soon as I get the new car I’m looking what’s going to be an option in 3 yesrs time. Never been able to drive medical reasons but have been a car nut since I could walk, talk look at pictures of cars.

Hi all,

im due to select a vehicle around now but will find it hard to beat my current golf gtd as it’s been an excellent vehicle but my favourites from the pre virus list was Vw Tiguan R line,Audi A4,Mercedes cla and(strange you may think?)Mini Cooper s 5 door but what the new list may bring is anybody’s guess but I’d be happy to extend if need be ?

Coming back to Motability after loosing it when I changed over from DLA to PIP, Only took 5yrs to get it back!.

Just waiting for my Tiguan R-Line Tech to arrive but already wanting to see the new hybrid version pricing when it appears!!

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

georgie, i only picked up my new countryman on the 9th march but i will be looking at the car search first thing on the 4th so i guess thats really sad. lol
