While we are aware of recent media speculation that car dealerships will be among the first wave of businesses allowed to re-open when lockdown ends, this is yet to be confirmed by HM Government.
In the meantime, we are nearing the latter stages of planning and implementing a number of measures which will protect customers and colleagues while providing a much-needed service. We are in the process of producing a video which will explain these measures, and hopefully reassure everyone that we are making our dealerships as safe a retail space as possible.
We will begin to offer customers the option to book an appointment when visiting our dealerships, and will ensure that social distancing rules are adhered to at all times. We have invested heavily in personal protective equipment such as facemasks, gloves, hand sanitiser, anti-bacterial sprays and protective safety screens which will be installed in our dealerships.
Until we can re-open fully, colleagues remain on hand to assist with your enquiries via telephone, email or live chat and our websites are fully functional with online car retailing capability. We are also now able to offer safe home delivery via our specialist delivery partner for any vehicles which are purchased online.
Over 90 of our service departments across the UK are still open to assist key workers, essential organisations and vulnerable customers with servicing, repairs and tyre needs. We believe that this is a very important service to our local communities and customers. We are now taking bookings for services for all customers from the 1st June on the assumption we will be fully operational.
We will monitor and follow official guidance from HM Government, and will continue to communicate any updates to our dealership operations.
