Cancel & order a different model

      Hi

New contributor here, but been reading for quite a while. I’ve asked a similar question on various facebook groups, but people generally are quite rude & don’t seem to read the actual question that needs answering, so please be gentle 😉

Ordered an ID3 in May & still have no build date, it was meant to be delivered to us on week 34.

With the new list that came out on July 1st the AP is hugely different to what we paid & also, the actual car that we would have ordered is now in our price range.

We’ve paid a deposit of £249 but even if we lose that, then we’re still better off ordering the actual model we wanted.

Has anyone had any experience of cancelling an order & changing spec in this scenario.

Just a note, this is more of a ‘getting the car you wanted’ rather than a saving money exercise.

Thanks in advance for helpful answers.

essentially you can cancel any order right up to the point of delivery.

however if you make a habit of it motability do take a dim view.

however i cant see a problem in this case, get the car you need.

          @Surfer69

Talk to Motability Customer Services and explain what you have above. They will offer you the best advice.

However, I do not see a problem. Until you actually enter your Motability PIN,you can change at any time. But call CS first just to keep them updated.

I think your thread title IS the answer you seek.

Cancel your order and reorder the car you want I also doubt very much that you will lose your deposit, or that your dealer will make a big fuss about it.

Well, Just been contacted by VW.

No problem to switch the model, all done & dusted, excellent customer service.

Apparently all the guys at VW were astounded about the price changes this time.

Cheers for the useful replies !

Thats good. The ” VOLKSWAGEN ID.3 ELECTRIC HATCHBACK 150KW TOUR PRO S 77KWH 5DR AUTO”

is a good price at £1349. and with the big battery and good kit. For price of car its exceeding cheap(dunno if its a misprint) I would deffo consider it if i could get into it

We originally went for the ID3 Life Pro Performance £1249 now £249

The Family Pro Performance with panoramic sunroof & rear view camera was initially £3000, its now been reduced to £449.

                      That’s what we’ve gone for.

The bigger battery of the Tour would be great, £1349 is definitely the right price, but realistically, I’m not sure we’d need it in most scenarios.

Time will tell, but at least we’re actually getting the car we wanted now.
