So lets say you have Ford vehicle and you got it from a Ford dealer in Yorkshire can you return the car to a Ford dealer in Lancashire.

If you are getting another Ford from a different dealer, yes if you are getting, say, a Citroen yiu hand yoyr Ford to the Citroen dealer on the day of vollection

You leave your current car with whichever dealer you are collecting the new one from, regardless of where your current car came from and regardless of whether it’s the same manufacturer or not. You don’t take it anywhere else. We left our last Volkswagen at the BMW dealer that provided our current car.
