British Gas standard variable tariff

      I’m on the above I see Ofgam prices are going up 10% on 1st October British Gas have sent me an email should I stay on my standard variable tariff or go on a fixed tariff ? Many thanks for your help and advice in advance

        It depends on what BG are offering you on a fixed rate and if there’s any early termination penalties.

        Cornwall insight has been pretty accurate and expect a further increase of 3% in January, before prices start to fall slightly in April.

          Kezo I’ve just gone into detail on my British Gas account and they estimate I will be paying £27 a year more on a fixed tariff so I’m staying on my standard variable tariff

              It souns a good deal if you want security however, imo if you can see out winter and look at fixing spring/summer time, your fixes will alway end when rates are at their cheapest, when looking for a new fix!
