      Good morning all,

Took my BMW 2 series GC in for an mot  this morning at a new BMW showroom in Glasgow and have to say the experience was streamlined and faultless.I arrived to find a two members of staff ushering me into a warm entrance under cover, parked up then they took my car keys and within 15 minutes I was handed my courteousy car and off I went being told that my car will be ready this afternoon.Anyone experiencing this level of service has to be impressed!

It’s BMW, it had better be a good experience. Don’t be fooled into thinking all manufacturers are the same if you leave the brand. You will be shocked if you get a VW, I was!! ???

I have my car looked after by Stratstones Harrogate BMW, outstanding service from them. Suitable loan car booked in ready to pick up, helpful staff. They set very high standards.

When my BMW goes in for a service I always ask for (and get) a car that I fancy trying – even things that will never appear on Motability. Last time I had an iX1 30e for the day. Didn’t like it as much as my current previous model petrol X1 ?

Not sure if its the brand or the dealership thing TBH as I have no problems with my VW dealer but then being a disabled driver I can’t just walk into the dealership expecting to have a courtesy car simply because my cars have to be adapted to drive.

At best I just hang around for an hour drinking tea and eating biscuits while they change the oil and check the light bulbs. At worst like my last service with the local KIA dealer who collected the car from my home saying they’d be back mid PM only to have a phone call at 5:30PM saying they haven’t got the brake discs they need for the car in stock so I won’t have the car back until the next day. Yep folks KIA dealer with no KIA spare consumable parts. Left up the creek without a paddle comes to mind.

Oh how I envy you guys who can drive courtesy cars.

Wow, that is impressive! My experience wasn’t anywhere near. Throughout the lease process, whenever I had to visit the retailer to leave the car, I was repeatedly told that no courtesy car were available and any that were parked in the yard, were booked by other customers. After I deposited the keys into a small locker, I awkwardly waited for an hour or so in their waiting area, forcibly watching ‘This Morning’.

Totally agree about the level of service you get with BMW, it’s one of the things I miss when my X1 went back, especially the courtesy cars . I always seemed to get top spec 3 series and once a top spec x5. It’s a big difference to Nissan. My Aria goes in for warranty work on Monday and I asked about a car the reply was sorry you’re have to wait until December or get a taxi ?

Now on 7th motability vehicle and never had a courtesy car always been told by every dealer that I need to book one at least 3 months in advance.

It doesn’t matter which make of car I have or which dealership I use I always have car picked up and returned as being handcontroled it is not possible to get a courtesy car. I must say I have always been very happy with my dealerships.
