Hi,
Looking at the iX1 prices just now and they seem to be crazy just now. Does anyone suspect that the prices might come down in the next quarter ?

Totally agree that MB could come up with help for customers who don’t have off street parking. If I could get help with the cost of something like the Kerbocharge system I would seriously consider taking the plunge on a EV.
September 27, 2024 at 2:04 pm #289402I find it ridiculous that if you can pay 7-8k for an AP do you really need a Motability car? You can obviously afford to buy a car yourself.
September 27, 2024 at 2:15 pm #289404Have you tried your local council? mine gave me a 50% discount off the usual £600 installation charge.
Try talking to their Environment Services team and see what they say?
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
September 27, 2024 at 2:16 pm #289405I know everyone has different financial circumstances and good luck to those who can afford to pay high APs , personally I could not justify paying 7-8k AP plus full monthly payments for a vehicle I could never call mine, But as I say , each to their own.

September 27, 2024 at 2:50 pm #289407“I was considering the M3 estate because of my assistance dog and the fact it was a great car to drive, especially compared to other estates on scheme. Yet even the dealer was saying it was too pricey (£7999) to make it practical. Glad they took it off the scheme though as it was tempting.” Guessing you don’t know your BMW’s that well. There has never been a M3 on the scheme. Haha.
Yes, made a mistake there, sorry. Still able to recognise when talking to someone who is pretty obnoxious though.

I wasn’t going to reply because it grits my teeth when I see comments like this!
So tell us what you can buy new for £8k or £20k including scacrified benifits, that remotely gets you anywhere near a BMW?
Whether I could or couldn’t afford, I wouldn’t give Motability £8k but, there are those that do and has nothing to do with any body else including you. However as, you were one of those saying PIP should be means tested, I’m sill to think anything different from you!
Just beaware means testing PIP etc could have a massive effect on the scheme and if Labour choose to implement the voucher scheme, they are currently looking at, it will be those that can’t afford, that will suffer the most!

Ah but I’m not paying 7-8k in fact less than half that, besides what has my ability to pay the ap got to do with my entitlement to motability, a big fat zero.
October 4, 2024 at 3:50 pm #290158Well after collection and an urgent crash course in applied computing we have our trial car, must say I’m impressed, a car that weighs just shy of 2t, more fully loaded, simply floats along, cornering is a breeze, no lolling from side to side and it stops on a sixpence.
The cost is just surprising, traveled nearly 900 km and courtesy of tesla supercharger the cost was less than half my x1 diesel. Best £9.99 I’ve spent.
October 6, 2024 at 11:12 am #290284Greetings all,
Well after a return trip, I have saved £102 total. Against a x1 drive diesel. I did use exclusively tesla supercharger and bought the month subscription.
Really think mb ops could do a better job at obtaining a charge card for us with better rates.
