      Scenario

Family members 1 (parent) with higher  DLA , daughter with higher mobility PIP

Parent just passed away due to Covid, he has the Mobility car registered to him.

      Question

His daughter whom was his carer and one of the registered drivers has the correct PIP to get a car.

I wonder in these crazy times if the rest of the lease can be transferred, as it is impossible to get a new car and there is about 6 months to go on the car.

We have no other car so will be “stranded”

      Thanking you in advance

I think that mobility may have to be rung. Even though they are:

        Nominated drivers

Have the correct level of PIP

is there a clause stating a mobility car can only be used for the benefit of the person who is the keeper.it makes sense doing this, depends if they can unravel the red tape

          Thanks Mike

          difficult one

I don’t even want to risk going around car dealers etc to buy / lease/ hire a car.. too risky

I have said in the past there should be a voluntary insurance plan on the scheme where on the passing of the motability customer the car would pass to their next of kin.

It didn’t get any support and I still can’t understand why.
