Hi everyone

This is our first time entering the motability scheme having always maintained our own little cheap run around, however it’s time for a new car and we’re grateful to have the opportunity of this initiative.

We’ve been looking for a Q2 Black Edition but have stumbled upon various difficulties, lack of stock, lack of options.. and perhaps most significantly, there’s a newer model coming out very shortly.

Because of this we’d like to sit tight to acquire one of the newer cars however we’ve been met with various responses from dealers i.e the newer model Q2 will be coming off motability, the car won’t be available to order via the scheme, all of this kind of stuff. Alternatively I had one of the current models ready to order and was told by a dealer I shouldn’t put down my money but wait for the new version very very shortly. It’s all so confusing.

Would anybody be able to advise us or just offer opinions on whether we should wait and chance our luck or if we should just get what we can this quarter and move on.

It feels like this isn’t the best time to be entering the scheme having looked over this year’s options from previous quarters and given the seemingly dwindling options and rising advances this time around. Is there any sort of pattern i.e Q1 always has options and cheap prices vs Q4 having meagre options and high prices or am I not on the right track and now is in fact the time to order..

The only thing that I would say about Audi is that usually when a new model comes out it disappears from the scheme.

If you want the facelift model I would chance it and wait. The A1 and Q2 have been on the scheme since they got released. The AP will probably increase.

I wouldn’t expect it to return as the A3 has now left the scheme since the facelift
