Ok, so as some on here suspected, the new Vauxhall Frontera isn’t going to be ready when they said it would, possibly not for a good 3-4 months later than dealers original estimate 🙁 due to issues with our current vehicle we ideally can’t wait long so I’m throwing things open to you lovely people to see if you can help …

I need suggestions, dimensions as well if you them, for some very specific car criteria as follows

      1) petrol/hybrid (not plug in)

      2) Automatic

      3) head and leg room for 6ft 6 passenger (not driver)

      4) hip room (width) in rear for 3 adults comfortably (headroom accommodating 6ft6 passenger would be helpful but not dealbreaking)

      5) AP less than 1k

To help, cars we have looked at and vetoed for size issues are:

      1) Dacia jogger (bad head room)

      2) MG HS (bad head room)

      3) Kia Sportage (bad hip room)

I imagine this is probably impossible to accommodate but please feel free to fire any suggestions over. Might have to either grin and bare the wait period or see what pops up with the July 1st pricing list

      Thanks in advance, good luck!

My husband is that height – we were impressed with Nissan both qashqai and x trail ( but x trail is over your ap I think ). the Suzukis get good reviews too

We used to have a grand c4 spacetourer and was brilliant although a 7 seater it had 3 full seats in the back. Many now seem to be the bench split seats and the middle space is a big issue for a 3 person or 3 car seats.

Plus also the AP right now are higher than ever before. With an ap less than 1k that limits you. Only thing I know was the citroen berlingo lcv but I don’t think it’s now on the scheme. Just been removed.

Tough criteria. Car before last on the scheme we had VW Touran auto- three separate, reclining seats in the second row (plus two in the third). I see their published AP price is just over £4,000 but perhaps someone on this forum can point you to a good deal.

N.B. Mat Watson made a video review of this car back in 2018 and you could see three not-too-small gentlemen sit comfortably (skip to 02:04).

                Hi kdwolf,

Agree my first MB car was a Touran 1.4 dsg SEL. Extended lease into 4th year and never missed a beat. Following an Allspace 1.5 SEL, now have another Touran 1.5 dsg Match, which includes a panoramic roof etc. It has returned 43 mpg out of town and we have up to 3 child seats in row two, plus my rollator/ wheelchair in the boot.

From 8 years ago, they have replaced the manual HVAC with the awful, distracting, touchy sliders bs. The instrument display is poor compared to the Allspace, no rev-counter or gear indicator, just dumbed down D or R. £4k is a lot and I had to battle to get CarPlay included as is one of those price gouging “ subscription” surprises.
I would not buy one privately.

Thank you all for your responses. We are going to take a closer look at the MG HS and the Ford Kuga. Can’t get exact measurements online for head and hip room unfortunately so will have to be the sit everyone in it test, always nice and socially uncomfortable 😂

Is £3k in budget – Citreon C5 Aircoss has 3 full rear seats!

We had an mg hs as a hire car for two weeks recently and husband did fit in it but the control pad was the most confusing convoluted mess of any car I’ve driven. And it felt basic and plasticky.

How tall is hubby if you don’t mind me asking? And was that as driver or passenger?
