      Which Mobility Car

Wrong forum old chap. Can recommend Motability, excellent customer service throughout your lease and a good condition bonus at the end. It’s the biggest bang you will get for £62.25 per week.

It would depend on what car you want and how much you have as down payment.
£62.25 a week won’t get you far though.

Anything decent I’ve seen leasing requires big down payment to get it down to £270 a month which is our all we have to play with and then all other things on top.

As philjb said depends how much money you have .

In my opinion it’s either Motability or get a car you want that’s not on the scheme but not brand new

Select car leasing are competitive and you can tailor your quote online.

A few folk in my work lease cars but nothing touches motability for value for money. Some have really nice flash cars but they’re closer to £500 per month with big deposits and a mileage allowance that’s rarely over 10k a year.

Have you considered buying a car… you’ll get a used car and can search for exactly what you want?

Best off looking on PistonHeads forum, they are quite active with new and cheap lease deals that become available

Paul must think loads of us must have found good/better deals because we also want a car not on the scheme.

When most of us are more then happy with what we’ve got.

I keep getting promotional emails from a lease company and yesterday out of curiosity I checked out my Focus to lease privately.

For the same sort of terms as Motability ie 20k mileage over 36 months it came out at £402 with a 3 month £1206 deposit (AP with MOB is £695). No servicing, tyres or insurance as well of course.

I think this is a good a thread as any to highlight, if nothing else, the value for money Motability gives.

I would be really interested to hear from others what the costs of leasing privately are for their own Motability vehicles.

Have to agree there jamesg. If someone doesn’t like a thread then they need to jog on through.

I am  curious  to see  what  is  out  there.  If  money  was not a problem  and  credit score  was  good  who  would  not  want to get  the  car  that  suits  all  there  needs but  at this  moment  the  motability  car  will  do  for  me.

A full electric golf with insurance, maintenance and tyres is available on the healthcare scheme for £200 a month.

I just ordered an Audi A5 sline £2400 up front And  £260 a month. It also comes with metallic paint and the c&s pack.

I would have went with the xc40 before the AP shot up. The pistonhead forum usually has all the best deals.

Cheers for genuine replies. As expected nearly every time a subject is raised ,there’s always odd one who wants to stir it when someone only asked a simple question.Ive been disabled since birth and had 4 cars on the scheme.I just asked on leasing as someone may have left leasing and then used motorbility,  and was just enquiring as im struggling to find vehicle/cost now on motorbility..stay safe everyone

I think what Paul meant is going private. There’s no harm in asking about any leasing deals. I mean alot of members may have gone off the scheme due to the ever increase of AP’s and yes it can be quite hard and understanding for some people to take in the reasons behind it e.g. economy, covid, brexit etc.

Some may just look at the numbers and go whoa and straight away come to a conclusion that the scheme is not worth it. Others perhaps have been cut off their enhanced mobility rate etc. I wish I could help you Paul but i’ve never used or come across anything to do with private leasing.
