If a Motability car needs re-gassing there’s probably a leak which a dealer should investigate. In the normal way of things modern cars shouldn’t need re-gassing.

@Wigwam My initial thoughts were the same until I did a Google search, apparently it’s normal for it to need regassing every 2-3 years.

My search results may have been sponsored by the regassing industry though ?

If I seem a little strange, that's because I am.

The Aircon on my MX5 still works fine after 26 years… Never been regassed to my certain knowledge.  Different gas in them days though.

My one and only experience with re-gassing with a Motability car was about 10 years ago when my VW dealer rang me to say they recommend a re-gass every two years.

I said that’s fine even though the AC is OK but if Motability want to pay for it all very well.

Never heard a word from them about the AC  since.

Ive got a AC temp probe and if it doesn’t come out somewhere in the region of 6c  on a hottish day with recirculate turned on I take it in for a regas.
