Just thought I would share my experience with the forum.

I was due to collect my skoda enyaq coupe 85x tomorrow and by chance checked tge advanced payment and to my shock it was £2099 , it was I think £2700 when I signed up and thought the payment had dropped to £2600.

I was ok with the £100 but when I found out out it was £600 I was on the phone to them and motability

Dealer said that there was nothing they could do without upsetting motability,  so I rang motability.

I told the lady about the situation and she said that there was nothing they could do. So I  said I was going to cancel the order and later today go back to the same dealer and order the same car again, and was there anything that would upset motability with the dealer selling me a car they have in stock ( my actual car that I cancelled the order on ),  and ahead was yes they can do that.

I rand the dealer and informed them , so in disbelief they rang motability to make sure it was OK.

10 mins later  they rang me back , motability were OK as it was a stick car from a cancelled order ( my cancelled order 🤔)

So the just canceled the order,  and sold me the sock one and I save £600

      Thanks D.M Keith

Glad you got the lower price AP. A few of us here got the lower price, it’s all down to the dealer, ours were very good and changed the price, a few dealers refused to change it.

I was just so pleased with the outcome as I was prepared to have to wait another 4 months.

I am thinking it was because the car become stock rather than an order ?

Just got to wait until next week to collect it now due the the random 4 day rule that i dont understand, motability say the 4 day rule is for the dealer to clean and valet the car ( cleaning clean ?)

Well done there is a few who weren’t so lucky as dealer wouldn’t alter AP.

It’s a PDI, Pre Delivery Inspection, basically a chance to put right anything the factory monkeys missed!, also remove things like paint protection covers, suspension and transport bolts and blocks etc. etc. give it a good clean and make sure it’s ready to drive off.

Usually they get it right but there’s been a quite few Enyaqs with the transport blocks left in place!

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

Nice glad or worked out. However technically there was nothing stopping the dealer from flogging your car retail say they had a customer waiting and then putting you back in the queue.

Given the BILLIONS Motability are sitting on they could easily fix this with a price guarantee, order now in complete confidence you’re protected from price rises but equally you won’t miss out if the price falls by more than say £100. This would cost MB nothing and it would mean a lot to customers.

The only excuse for the current system is it’s like Tesco when they do a bogof on beans but they double the price the day before or insurance when they say here’s an extra 12% no claims discount this year but the price has gone up by 25%, sorry.

Really have to remember that MB isn’t really run for us it’s run as a money making system via gov and major banks

Our original dealer Horton Skoda wouldn’t even accept a new order once we had cancelled and were willing to wait another six months or so even speaking to the principle had zero effect.  Placed a new order with a different dealer and starting the wait again.

Seems you did well to escape their clutches https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/dennishorton.co.uk?stars=1
