BertyIf you look on Motability Website, and yes – if you order a car in 2023, you will get the £750 rebate
after you get the car.
April 8, 2023 at 6:23 am #218230April 9, 2023 at 6:29 pm #218374You only get the £750 payment once.
Is that per 3 year lease ? or just once no matter how many lease you have over time ?
April 9, 2023 at 7:14 pm #218599I read that as it’s one time payment for each customer, one time only never to be repeated (for now).
If I seem a little strange, that's because I am.

April 9, 2023 at 8:40 pm #218601Does it only apply to leases that begin in 2023 ?
What about those that begin in 2024/25/etc
April 10, 2023 at 11:26 pm #218658
BertyNo. It is a ONE off payment and you have to order by the end of 2023.
It seems harsh, it may change in the future if they make too much profit.
Motability do tend to change the rules.
April 13, 2023 at 10:21 am #218910New vehicle payment now available to be taken off the advance payment.
I saw something on social media yesterday, taken down quickly as it was embargoed until today, did a little checking and found it true and have just received a call from the dealership my new car is ordered through to offer me the option of applying it to my order.
April 13, 2023 at 10:55 am #218921From Motability site
We’ve recently increased the New Vehicle Payment to £750 to help you make the most of your new Scheme vehicle. You’ll get this if you order or collect your first Scheme car in 2023, or if you already have a car on the Scheme, you’ll get this whenever you get your next car.
so it seems we all get this one off payment next time we order, not necessarily this year but whenever.

April 13, 2023 at 10:56 am #218923My understanding of the £750 payment is everyone who has a Motability car now and renews its regardless of when will get the one off payment.
For those who are new to Motability will get the £750 if ordered in 2022/23 and beyond that date is unknown but again if you got a Motability car now and order and take delivery of a new Motability car when you current lease finishes, be it this year, next year or the year after you will get the payment.
As pointed out it would be grossly unfair if everyone on Motability now did not get the payment because they were only a few month into a new lease when the offer was announced. As for new customer they have the choice of taking it or leaving it if the offer ceases to exist in future.
That’s my thoughts and could be wrong and who knows the minds of Motability but reading the guff back last year that’s how I assumed it would work.
@Sue, good find, too late for me as I took my new car in February and have had all the payments due but can see this is good if you struggle to off set any AP until you get the £750.April 13, 2023 at 11:08 am #218929It’s brilliant for me, I ordered a new car on Saturday (well cancelled an existing order and ordered a different one) but the advance payment is quite a bit higher than I’ve previously paid. It was going to be a bit of a mare borrowing money from family and moving stuff about and then paying it all back when the NVP and GCB came in, so this saves all of that.
That the dealership was so on the ball and gave me a call this morning to opt to do it, also bodes well after my experience at the now cancelled vehicle dealership.

PhilSo, you can get the £750 directly off your AP now instead of waiting until after you collect the actual car?

olpkWhere did you see it as nothing on MB website
April 14, 2023 at 7:07 am #219072
olpkIt’s ok I found it on MB Facebook. Contacting my dealer as it’s easier knocking it off the AP
April 14, 2023 at 7:14 am #219079Common sense prevails at last. It was always daft to expect people to pay £750 more than they needed to, only to get it back shortly afterwards. This would have created a cash flow challenge for many.
I haven’t really looked in to this payment as we are some way off changing and, as things stand, are likely to leave the scheme, but is this a permanent thing or just a one-off?
April 21, 2023 at 12:51 pm #219693Ordered a facelift Kuga for delivery later this year, didn’t even have to ask about the £750, they took it straight off the AP to be paid on collection.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

Hi Phaedra, did they tell you it would be the facelift mdel, you will get?
April 21, 2023 at 2:02 pm #219696Yes, she marked the order sheet “MY23.75 Only” Current version is MY23.25
She’s ordering it in a couple of weeks as they closed the factory order system for 2 weeks or so while they change things over to the new model.

olpkContacted the dealer a week after the order went in and he sorted the £750 without issue. Just changed the order paperwork.
Hell of a lot easier than waiting for the money.

April 21, 2023 at 2:46 pm #219708I am keeping an eye on the scheme, Ford are now charge more for the FHEV hybrid than the PHEV model, plus according to my dealer the waiting list for the FHEV hybrid is 12 months and only 7 months for the PHEV.
Motability AP for FHEV ST X is £2695 and £5045 for the PHEV, I am hoping the PHEV AP will drop to an more realistic level. As I have extended I can bide my time.
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.
