Hoist and flip pedal added £600 to the already high AP.

The cost for adaptions should be as listed in the current adaptions price list:

There are some mechanical BAS (NW) Ltd hand controls still showing as £0.00 if these are suitable?
February 8, 2022 at 2:54 pm #176632I count myself lucky that the Lodgesons 7-Way remote control device has not gone up from £445 from it’s early last year price as when I seen the cost of the AutoChair 80Kg 4-Way boot hoist go up from around £295 to its current price of £590.
I wonder what’s next from Motability, maybe charges for damage to the car from disability equipment.?
February 9, 2022 at 5:03 am #176689Back in the good days, when men were men and sheep were worried, you had to pay and provide your own hand controls plus fit them once you get the car. When Motability took this responsibility on, I was amazed and it is a great example of what they do right.
However, now they are reducing the grant towards hand controls it kind of hurts. I was shocked even, when I ordered my car to see I had to make a contribution for hand controls. It’s a good deal, but a bitter pill to swallow.

February 9, 2022 at 7:24 am #176692there are free hand controls like bigdave has pointed out but I’m not sure about them, ive used the same ones for over 30 years now.its not that the £50 is a big asking price.its just more to pay out on top of huge deposits.mobility change the rules as and when it suits them.
February 9, 2022 at 10:27 am #176726There are no free remote electronic hand controls or hoists but I’m not to much bothered about having to pay for them…..ONCE or even once every 6 years.
It’s the fact you have to pay for them every 3 years and its more annoying when government bangs on about making domestic good repairable so as not to fill up the land fill site with more or less perfectly good equipment and having to be renewed causing more muck in the air manufacturing new ones.
Total personal cost to myself over 13 years with Motability is about £3,700 (not including AP’s) and I never had a hoist in my first three cars. All this time while I was on pension credit other than the last year.
