Hi All, Finally won the tribunal for my son and ordered his car, the car arrived at the dealership on Friday….my question is regarding the 4 day rule. If the car arrived on Friday when do they start and end the 4 days? I’m guessing that the release date would be Thursday which will be the first day of lockdown.

I will obviously speak to the staff at the dealership tomorrow but wanted to ask your thoughts.

      Thank you.

As I have posted on the Coronavirus thread, info from a reliable source is that if a vehicle can be delivered before lockdown, the usual 4 day rule can be over-ruled without penalty to the dealer, in order to facilitate the handover before lockdown.

It really depends if the dealer can get the pdi/registration etc done in time.

I’ve just had the exact same 4 day situation on a renewal. I did everything yesterday (Saturday) and will collect on Wednesday. The collection diary for the advisor should show the earliest date available. In my case this was Wednesday (4 days).

Oh thanks for that Dave. I will speak to the dealers tomorrow, they made a mistake on the initial paperwork that led to a weeks delay so I’m sure they will try to help us as much as possible, they’re a good team.

            Thanks again.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Will that be on the motability page Tim? Sorry I’m new to all this and I’m still exhausted from the 2 year fight!</p>
The dealership sent me a form to sign on Friday, I did it online but there was no date for collection, just registration date of 30/10.

I’ll give way to Dave on that one, Adele. Congrats on coming to a successful end in your fight and I hope you can get everything in place before Thursday 😀

                  Hi

if you check the coronavirus thread you will see that the 4 day rule has been abolished but the dealer needs to be able to do his paperwork in time!

basically the dealerships have to give a CDD (confirmed delivery date) on there back office system, at this point all paperwork and checks are summited, this can take 4 days, motability fines the dealerships if not completed in this period hence the 4 day rule. motability are now allowing dealerships not to have to wait for the checks to come back and handover before lockdown if other criteria is inplace.
