13amp plug saga continued…

      Hi again,

I’ve got yet another query regarding having an external 13amp plug fitted for charging a PHEV. My Dad now reckons that if I have one fitted, I won’t be able to use it every night to charge the car as it will ‘draw’ too much electric’ and be too powerful and overheat my home electric system. Is he right?
I thought if I had an MCB fitted (as T.J kindly explained), I wouldn’t have this problem?

Hope that makes sense? I confuse myself half of the time!??!

You should be absolutely fine, the car will probably draw a maximum of 10amp, it will be similar to you running a 2 bar electric fire, and then probably only for around 5 hours max
