Spinab, I did use the term OP as I was unsure of your gender, but I was guilty of using “he” at certain points for which I apologise.
There’s a lot to read in this thread so I might have missed the name of the dealer, can you please name the dealership. Good and bad dealerships and salespersons have been posted many times on other threads so shouldn’t be a problem.
As far as the seats go, I know there are numerous posts on various BMW forums about the X1 seats, before I ordered mine I read about the many complaints which was one of the reasons I opted for the sport variant (price was also a constraint). It always pays to do your homework.
As I am within 6 months of my current PIP award ending I am now seriously looking at my next car, and will be taking many test drives, if a particular dealer doesn’t come up to scratch then I’ll go further afield. They all tell untruths but with research on various forums I will hopefully be able to ignore the bull and make a judgement with knowledge gained from research.
