I don’t see why there should be any bar in getting a vehicle from the UK mainland (possible Brexit issues aside) but it will mean a couple of trips over to the mainland to both order the vehicle and collect it which must be done in person. However you would need to look at registration/ NI plates etc. Perhaps it would best to speak with Motability in advance to check.
Also don’t forget that if you need an automatic vehicle or other adaptions due to your War Pensionable condition, there are grants (not means tested) available from Veterans UK for these. The Automatic transmission grant being to help bring the Advance Payment of an automatic down to the level of the equivalent manual upto a maximum of around £660.
