I honestly believe that being a part of an EU that is functioning properly is the best way forward …. BUT …. The EU is not and has not been functioning properly for years.
In my opinion the eventual way forward for the EU is for each of it’s member countries to return to total control over their own legal, fiscal and political decision making, while retaining a common trading policy which allows frictionless and tariff free trading with a monitored freedom of movement within the EU.
A return to the ethos and rules of the Common Market which was unfortunately replaced by the constrictions of the EU would be a compromise, but a reasonable way forward.
It’s not going to happen, so unfortunately my next best option would be to leave as soon as is safely possible with a sensible and well drafted Exit Bill which would be followed by extensive and detailed negotiations over beneficial trading, reasonable freedom of movement and joint security agreements.
A No Deal exit is a risky road to travel, and it would be a dimly lit potholed one-way street from which there can be no turning back.
