I can’t see how the scheme can carry on without increasing the price cap as the car industry as a whole has targeted britain as a money pot and has just lumped us with price rise after rise and the cap hasn’t moved at all so all we are getting is a smaller list with lesser vehicles quarter on quarter.

As an example, in 2013 I got a top spec Berlingo for £295 AP that had a list price of £19K, today the equivalent Citroen/Peugeot has an AP of £2,400 and a list price of almost £29k!

If the average price of vehicles in the UK has gone up by £10k in the last 6 years then as each quarter comes the price cap is just going to slice big chunks from the list until all that is left is the rubbish at the bottom of the barrel that the dealers can’t sell to the general public(because they have eyes and a brain).

The future looks bleak for the scheme as it stands and as I am due to change soon I have started looking round for real world alternatives, sadly.
