Am I misunderstanding something here Brydo?
The article covers company car BIK so how does this translate to Motability? Does it read across somehow?
Regarding the statements within the article though, I’d be interested to know others here feel if they agree with the upsurge of EV’s on the road. I know of many people getting into PCP or lease right now and I don’t know one who’s got a hybrid let alone a full EV. Granted I’m in a rural area in North Wales but for now I’ve absolutely no interest in one. This will change but for now, diesel every time for me. The infrastructure just isn’t in place for EV’s. Until it’s realised that current thinking/engineering of the infrastructure is not viable the better.
Who has time to get out the lead and get it all set up every single trip/day. I know I don’t. And the disruption for homes with no off street parking.
Only this morning I came across a pic on Twitter with the comment “I give you the future” The pic showed a car parked on the pavement with a lead running at knee height from the car to a gate (for some reason the pic will not upload)
The solution is drastic but so is the change. Either
1) Common, replacement batteries that you change in a fuel station. Or
2) And this is the Jetsons solution, full contactless charging infrastructure in the roads and at home and we use PAYG. It can be done and we already have technology to support this. However we are using a sticking plaster solution on an open wound.
Sorry for the long post. Guess where I’m sat?
1) Pub
2) Hospital
3) Spice Girls Gig
? I will be remembered for nothing but had great fun doing it ?
