Worth noting that Motability / DLM make it very clear that they don’t provide us with transferable no claims bonus (as we understand it), but a driving and claims history. They are different, as someone who works(ed) in that industry explained on another thread recently.
When seeking insurance quotes we therefore can’t input it as no claims bonus, but there is a separate section that allows you to input the time that you have driven other vehicles and any claims history. Thankfully, it seemed to pretty much amount to the same thing when I inputted my data.
It is possible to establish your driving history, in order to get insurance quotes, by phoning DLM, as I did. Thankfully they don’t count the call as the one time (in whatever period) that you can formally request this info, so I was able to get insurance quotes with correct info, but am still able to request this info in writing within the month before I take delivery of the car, which is what I presume that an insurer would require, rather than a letter that is months out of date.
