I was on the scheme from 2009 alongside my late wife till 2020. Then on her passing took the schem in my own name on war pension. I had nothing but praise for the scheme. In my wifes latter years they waived the excess milage costs, as we had a daily five days a week 150 mile round trip to hospital. So on end of lease of our Alhambra it had over 70k miles. They bent over backwards trying to swap the six month old Tarraco we had to my lease but as war pension and DlA where diffferent amounts, it was not possible but they did let me keep Tarraco an extra 3 months so i was only two months or so awaiting my Kuga. Then sadly I inherited some money i was not expecting, with my parents passing. So last September i left scheme and got my long term dream vehicle, whilst i am still allowed to drive being on medical licence with Parkinsons alongside other conditions. I treated myself to New VW California with VW 5 year warranty, Service plan, Roadside assitance 124k 5yr milage warranty. S0 basically extra costs where insurance, tyre repairs and of course cost of vehicle. Seeing the current trend it saddens me as the scheme made such a difference to our lives.

, that is gorgeous, I’d love a California. I’m always watching van lifers on YouTube, nearest I’ll get is a converted T5.
