The problem isn’t just the AP’s going up significantly with vat, the problem is Motability taking such cars off the list and saying , “Well there weren’t that many customers wanting/paying high AP’s for their cars anyway and we still offer X amount without any AP’s”.

I had to pay £4,000 AP for my Skoda Superb SLI Auto estate(plus £600 to them for a person hoist), not because I wanted too but because I needed too, to meet all of my needs.

It only came on the list in September 2024 and was off the list, weeks later, well before the end of the quarter,  and to never return again. I can only see three medium size auto estate model cars listed. Now listed under large estate cars.

The best way forward would be for Motability to pick up your new paid for car at the dealer and keep it safe and in new condition for you, until it was time to hand it back to them. Now that would be “Worry Free Motoring” ( Although, maybe without the actual motoring).

Maybe their new slogan could be ”  Worry Free Lack Of Motoring”.
