In 3.1 of the April 2017 version it simply said
We reserve the right to install a vehicle
telematics device in the Vehicle to track the
location and use of the Vehicle and to monitor
Driver behaviour, but we will always discuss
this with you first
Which has expanded to the following in 3.2 / 3.3.3 in recent leases, including leases before it was even announced for under new to scheme drivers.
We reserve the right to install or require you
to install a Telematics Device to optimise trip
detection, driver behaviour and impact detection,
including but not limited to excessive acceleration
and braking, volume of journeys to measure
fatigue levels, speed of driving as well as distance,
location and use of the Scheme Vehicle. Where
we have concluded that a Telematics Device is
required, we will notify you and you will be subject
to the DriveSmart App or the DriveSmart Blackbox
terms and conditions
and
Drivers under the age of 30 years, New to Scheme
Drivers, Drivers with multiple own damage
incidents, Drivers whose use of the roadside
recovery services is excessive or Drivers who have
had multiple (8 or more) tyre replacements are required to have a Telematics Device installed in
the Vehicle and will be subject to the DriveSmart
App or DriveSmart Blackbox terms and conditions
