    I might be missing something but if the APs on EVs goes up by as much as it looks like they are, I can’t get my head around who’s going to be signing up for them.

    The main reason an EV makes any kind of economic sense is that it pays for itself if you do higher mileages. But we’ve basically now been restricted to 10k/annum.

    Imagine paying (the now) £5k up front for an MG EV4 and sacrificing £12.5k worth of PIP to only be allowed to drive your relatively modest car (less than £30k list) for a maximum of 10,000 miles per year

    You can privately lease the X Power version (with unhinged performance) on the same mileage with £2.5k up front and a monthly payment of £220. That leaves you having to find 3yrs insurance and maintenance for £4,000 to beat Motability’s price whilst still getting a much better car

    It just makes no sense. What are Motability expecting to happen?
