Legally you can cancel your Motability application at any time before you enter your PIN at handover. That’s for any reason.
However it’s important to consider a few things.
Once you cancel an application, you can’t reinstate the original application, so any new application, even for the same car will be at the cars current AP, and will have the current Motabilty terms and conditions.
That’s important at the moment as applications made before 13 April shouldn’t have Drive Smart, and applications made before 1st July have a better mileage allowance; overage rates; higher number of tyres and EU cover included.
