To clarify, I am one who is walking away from scheme part way through a lease. The decision to do so was made before the recent changes came into effect, having already held a discussion about my plans with Motability about my current vehicle and available choice. I expressed my desire to keep my current scheme car untill taking delivery of a new one which wasn’t a problem because, at the time, I didn’t know if I was going to sell my own car first. However, with the introduction of VAT, which will now affect early terminations or walking away, we have decided to return he car next month, as a matter of principle rather than the £50 VAT added to the £250 termination fee and continue with our own car, untill the new one comes along.
@Mack2024 My advice is to be more upfront on what effects you now, rather than what doen’t when holding the conversation with Motability.
