Hi Mike, your Sony will be region “B” (Europe, Austrailia, New Zealand Africa and think includes Middle East). However, it is highly likely, it will be possible to make it region free by using an all in one remote and hacking in a few button presses, but and its a big but, I have a niggling thought, it will only make it region free for DVD’s not blu ray.
There are alternative methods to achieve making it region free through firmware updates or hardware modifications
