Car now back at the dealers who are replacing the aerial ( where even is that these days ??!!! It’s invisible to the eye)

On an ID.5 isn’t it in the “Shark Fin” above the back window on the roof? I’m due to be collecting my new ŠKODA on Friday and I’ll be getting Drive Smart for the first time. It’s not the first time I’ve heard that they give false readings and wreak havoc with the car’s location and satellite based systems. Confidence Inspiring.

it is indeed a shark fin ! I’d never noticed it before 😧

let us know how you get on with the new car !! I’d not heard anyone reporting this weird anomaly before which is why I thought I’d better post.

id5 now up a running it was in VW for three days and they said it was really weird. They completely replaced the aerial and had to let it sit and ping overnight and apparently EVENTUALLY it connected back to vw and all the errors cleared. I’m lucky in that I can remove my under 30 driver ( which I have ) and therefore have put the drive smart in the bin as directed by Motability.

no idea if the error was connected to the drive smart but it was an extremely timely coincidence if not.

Oh!! Also one of the other errors was that the car thought the date was 31/03/2028 – which was fun and it wouldn’t let me set the time and date to the correct ones even on manual !! so we had lots of ‘back to the future ‘ jokes for a few days chez kjid5
