Tesla chargers are a much better way of planning a trip away as their most expensive is still better than many rapids.
The only sure way for you to go with an EV would be the running cables through the public path and charging on the curb. It’s not the worst option but it would be cheaper and easier than public charging on your current pattern of going out.
Otherwise, you’d be better off with a hybrid.
