i had both eyes done back in 2003 and 2004 one eye each time of couurse.developed suddenly over 4 weeks reall scary at the time and i had to pay for the first one as the wait time was over a year.even though it had developed so fast i was almost blind within 6 weeks. both ops were a breeze as you say and the 2 weeks of drops were pretty easy. afterwards i only need readers now after havng glasses all the time from 5.
Things have moved on from 2003/4 with more private contractors like SpaMedic have really reduced waiting times dramatically.
From being referred by my optican, it only took 5 weeks to get my assessment done. However. I was delayed due to severe ear infections and antibiotics cancelling the proceedure 3 times. But it;s a fast service now, at lease in my heath trust.
