@Woodpecker Wishful thinking, with the way the government are going about it, they won’t meet 2030. Every time Reeves opens her mouth, it becomes more and more plausable the date will be pushed back to its original date inline with the EU.
There’s no chance they’ll make 2030. Even the most conservative estimates show that new EV sales will be hit in the tens of thousands after the 3ppm increase. It doesn’t take much research to know I’m not exactly anti-EV, in fact much the opposite where it’s practicable, but this decision has clearly put spending on non environmental issues above the motoring transition and that will, I’m sure be shown to be both short-sighted and unsuccessful. The first draw back is that with a reduction in new sales and EV drivers thinking more seriously about their driving habits (after all, it is quite simple to have a short trip out when you’re charging at home for pennies) I simply can’t see the revenue being anywhere near estimates, again like the Motability ‘Savings’ where people will simply change their spending.
I'm Autistic, if I say something you find offensive, please let me know, I can guarantee it was unintentional.
I'll try to give my honest opinion but am always open to learning.
