It makes perfect sense for Motability to halt ALL extensions in 2026.
Vehicles bought in 2026 will be returned in 2029, and giving a bit leeway for new orders, and a waiting list, the extra 12 months to 2030.
In 2029 when 2026 vehicles are returned, there will be very few new ICE cars available. A flood of low mileage ex motability cars will go for a premium.
People when supply drops for ICE vehicles, prices will rise.
Its just a purely commercial decision, motability are running at a loss the last year or so and need the cash. With over 700K customers, a few leaving the scene wont make much difference.
Its the UK, lots of grumbling, but nothing woll be happen.
