You are not forced to enrol in the scheme, in fact 60% of HRMC don’t. Without the scheme you can still buy or lease, but not at such a preferential rate Many already use their benefit for pre owned cars.

The reason a great many don’t have a Motability car is that they require the PIP to live on and /or they live in urban areas with good transport, have family with cars etc.
A lot of people don’t have the spare cash to pay for a car or credit to lease one or run it. In case it has passed you by, the whole purpose of Motability is to provide a vehicle that is safe and reliable and not breaking down because we are forced to buy an old unreliable car.
I can get my head around dropping ‘prestige’ cars for optics but this lousy government is actually using disabled people as a source of revenue generating and that is a line I thought a mainstream political party would not cross.
