I’ve always been quite bullish on EV‘s, but I can’t see the 3p pr mile happening, as the announcement along with other tax rises & disincentives are going to crash demand for EV‘s. I think the 2030/5 deadlines will also have to be moved.
I know as an EV driver, if you can charge at home, it would still be well worth having an EV, but the average person considering changing to an EV will think its not worth the trouble.
Don’t be fooled into thinking this is an EV only plan, if they implement it successfully, petrol and diesel cars will be next, on top of existing taxes.
