It’s not misogynistic in the slightest. If the Chancellor was called Richard and had also lied on his CV, he would be being called Richard from accounts. I’d say that what is deeply unprofessional is embellishing your CV to make out that you operated at a more senior level than you did, as is not following the rules on leasing out a property when you are making the rules for others when in government. To give someone a free pass for these things just because they are female would be wrong on many levels. Nobody would excuse these things from a man, nor should they, and women should be treated in exactly the same way, rather than claiming misogyny when caught out!
