Yes, it happens alot.
Hmmm. That’s pretty rubbish. As I say, it only happened in sleet & snow on the VW and I don’t recall it happening at all on the BMW. To lose safety systems just because of rain (when arguably you need it more) is a poor design.
I find Heavy rain or lots of road spray, sleet, ice & snow + speed will knock most sensors out however, it doesn’t help when some manufacturers fit the sensor in the lower half of the grill, especially towards the bottom! The other one by the rear view camera, depends on how heavy rain is or it’s covered.
Can’t say Ive never been in a modern car that it hasn’t happened at some point and to me, it’s like going back to the days of when you actually had to drive a car and bing bong free😂
