The good thing about bad software updates is that they can easily be fixed by another software update. It will not take them long to sort it out. The problem with over the air updates is really security. It has to be robust enough and resistant to hacking in todays World. But, the problems are only temporary and will be fixed quickly.
It is correct if you’re a software company, but Skoda are not, therefore from my experience with many organisations of that type, software department normally is treated as surplus to the requirements and as a result, when issue like this arises, it takes lots of time to fix it- people have to be moved from other important fixes, etc.
