    We agreed I don’t pay for the insurance, so it is not my problem 🙂

    Before i go on a rant on how stupid that comment is..

    Who is paying the insurance on that brand new 170hp EV? Because if it’s your daughter, then man, sorry to say, but clearly you should leave financial decisions of any kind to her.

    PS: the Ora is north of £6000 per annum in insurance for a beginner female driver (with Admiral). And that’s with my address used, in a small village in wales (where insurance is cheaper than in bigger english cities). For the base model Ora, too. You can replace every single part and body panel on that C1 for the money she’d have to pay for three months of insurance on the Ora.

    For reference, the Ora is in a higher insurance group than a 2025 Polo GTI.

    edit: also funny to suggest that a C1 is less safe than a 170hp car. I can tell you that you won’t get yourself into trouble in a C1, you very much can with 170hp. If you’re so concerned with your daughters safety (as you should), then double her budget and look at an around 2012 Polo.
