OHME ‘ contractor is due to fit a ‘non tethered ‘ box on Thursday- will Post a report asap afterwards!
Well, after wasting a whole morning, the contractors turned up at 11.30 – they had driven all the way from Leicester to Newbury.j the photos that I was required to send were clear but the wrong charger was ordered -apparently OHME should have advised a tethered charger with an 8 metre cable, not the untethered variety, which they ordered following their very basic survey ie my pbotos! I now await the result of the contractors report and recommendation.
Did you request a home pro charger in the initial application, as I’m slightly confused why one must be installed over the other? What a waste of time and effort driving all that way! I wonder if Ohme will come back to you and request £95 for an 8m cable!
they recommended a charger ,after veiwing the photos and a description of where the elec . Meter is sighted in relation to where the car is parked.
it is clear that they could fit an untethered version some 10 – 12 feet from the meter, but they said that they would have to leave around six feet without pinning to the wall , at the side of the shed, and their instructions were to pin every two feet or so .
It would have meant two pins on the house wall, before running an unpinned 6 feet, ( no access ) picking up a further two pins at the other end before fitting the charger, which would have been sited on the house wall within 3 meters of the car
Now they are talking about fitting a tethered version near the elec meter and I will run an 8 metre, loose cable over the shed ( which s easily done ). To the car !
Mike.
