*Does lock unlock refer to digital key 2, which needs a NFC and optional at time of purchase?

No. It refers to remotely locking/unlocking the car by phone, it pushes a notification if you forgot to lock the car.

    edit:

You also got something wrong there. If your mum got a map/infotainment update OTA, she does not use Bluelink Lite, but Bluelink Pro. That would also explain the traffic updates.

Pretty sure the disconnect here is the fact that Hyundai did some confusing skew-rearrangement recently.

Your mums Kona has 3 years Bluelink Pro.

edit2: personally, since i’m using Spotify through Android Auto, i’d opt for the “Plus” variant. Live traffic updates saved me bum quite a few times (.. M4 woes), so i wouldn’t want to be without that. Map updates i can do myself, don’t need them to push it – the landscape around here doesn’t change so vastly that i can’t navigate with a 3 year old Sat Nav – and proper relevant infotainment updates (to fix issues) are still mandatory. I test drive the car as is, not based on what might get pushed OTA further down the line.

But remote conditioning and live traffic updates are the two things i wouldn’t want to be without.

    Last edit:

Rhodgie got it wrong there. Or rather, it’s outdated information. New Hyundais do not come with 3 year free Bluelink Pro anymore, only 6 months. His car, would be my guess, falls into the “24 plate” skew-change – hence why he got 3 years.

Brydos Ioniq 6 should have only 6 months Pro, if Hyundais webpage is correct. NanasRob71 short duration seems to confirm that.
