Yes £6,999 isn’t cheap but for an EV of that quality with pano roof, heated rear seats, heated and ventilated front seats plus so much more, it’s almost worth it.

    Sorry, not even close.

I hate that people try to normalise these prices. It’s not a shed, but there’s more to “quality” than raiding Volvos parts bin. That would include not forgetting to make it drive decently, which a Polestar 2 doesn’t. Awful noise insulation, and a horrid suspension setup make it basically unliveable with in rural areas (and barely acceptable driving on glass surfaces).

It’s not a 1997 Fiat Cinquecento, sure, but that’s a pretty low bar. Especially considering that an Ioniq 6 Ultimate is £1700 – which is quieter, drives better and has the same level of equipment. That’s a car worth 51k for 1.7k as opposed to a 43k car for 7k.

Now, yes, the 6 is.. an acquired taste to look at (and i haven’t acquired it), the Polestar 2 is a better looking car, but there’s no argument to be had whether or not it’s worth it. It’s not, not even remotely.

For £2500-£3000, we could have an argument – for more than double that, they can keep it.
