I’m not sure why the constant derogatory comments around Chinese cars. They did the sensible thing by insisting that all foreign manufacturers had to have a local company involved in the building of cars for the local market. This gave them sight of how long standing manufacturers build in quality measures and ensure quality control is more of a formality.
If they see how the top end cars are built, plus the lower end to save costs and the end result is the saving of years of development and learning.
The resulting quality (to budget) isn’t as bad as all make out. Although I can see the political argument.
