Great to see the BMW X1 2.0i petrol join today, albeit just in 2WD form. Oddly all 3 trim levels are the same price (£3,999). M-Sport is the one to go for. Paying the same price for the lower spec (and less attractive) Sport model makes no sense at all and the X-Line has the ugliest wheels that BMW have put on a car for many years!
Have to say that I’m surprised, but I notice that the X1 PHEV has disappeared (BMW PHEVs seem to come and go with great regularity) and, more surprisingly, the iX1 has gone. Maybe the latter is a temporary withdrawal and the petrol X1 is a temporary replacement? Who knows. If the petrol X1 remains, maybe in the future it might be bundled with one or more of the desirable option packs?
EDIT – Just noticed that the Motability search tool says that the 20i is a 1.5 litre engine. If that’s the case it’s the 3 cylinder engine, not the superbly smooth, quiet, powerful and economical 2.0i engine that we had in our last generation X1. I can’t tell from the BMW website configurator, but it says it’s 170 hp which is around 20 hp down on the usual 2.0i output. @kezo do you know?
