Going back to the Tayron – There are many EV tariffs to choose from, with some, as cheap as intelligent tariffs from Octopus & Ovo, such as Eon Next drive, which gives 7hrs of cheap rate charging you can use to charge the car and do the laundry etc. With Ovo Anytime, you can only charge the car.
I have a Tucson PHEV, which has around half the range of the Tayron, and it’s costing a little over £4 to cover 400 miles a month soley taking my daughter to and from school, using standard Octopus Go @ 8.5p Kwh (7p kwh if I changed to EON next drive.) si it’s not the end of the world.
An EV would get better range per Kwh, than any PHEV and would be cheaper to run if you can have a charger fitted at home. I’d also suggest looking at the Enyak (585l boot), as that should accomondate two wheelchairs and will allow you to take advantage of OVO’s offer.
